Speaker 1 0:06
Hey everybody, we are back. And I am so excited to be here with you today. First of all, my name is Carlie Kercheval, and I am your hostess for the wives of integrity podcast. And today I have the honor and privilege of interviewing Alyssa Rahn who is a phenomenal Christian coach and speaker and a lot of other things for women. So before we get into that, though, I'm gonna go ahead and kick us off in a word of prayer. Father, God, we just praise you, we thank you so much for the connection, the divine connection today, between Alyssa and I and you. We fully know God that your voice, your spirit will lead this conversation. And the women that need to hear the message and the word spoken today will not only hear it, but they will receive it with joy in the name of Jesus, we thank You God that your will is being done, that your kingdom is truly coming on Earth. And it is just like heaven, God just like heaven. So we praise you in advance for all the good things that you will do. In Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Okay, Alyssa, I would love for you to introduce yourself, share a little bit about yourself, your family, and just the heart behind your ministry and your mission. Sure.
Speaker 2 1:16
My name is Alyssa, and I am from Michigan. I live here with my husband of 12 and a half years his name is Kyle, we actually both grew up in the town that we're living in. So we're back home raising are three little boys. They're six, four, and two, and are like, I like to just say that I'm that normal mom that's chasing her naked two year old down the street. It's happened more than once. And, you know, our house is just, it's chaotic and fun and sometimes smelly with three little boys. And it's but it's wonderful. We love I just love it. We love getting outside when it's warm here, which yesterday was 72. And then today, it's 20 degrees. So you know, we love getting outside, going for walks going to the playground. And when we're not doing that I just love to cuddle up with my blanket and some hot tea, and my journal and Bible and just pray and journal. And that's basically where you can find me. But a few months ago, end of 2023 I was falling asleep, right? I was all cozied up, my eyes were closed going to bed. And I heard revival starts with moms knowing who I am and who they are in me. And I was like, that's really cool, Lord, okay, and you know, and he said it again. And I'm a little slow sometimes. So I was just like, that's awesome, Lord, I'll pray about it. And he said, No. He said, Feed my sheep. Revival starts with moms knowing who I am and who they are in Me revival starts in the home. And from that moment on, I that has become my mission, my ministry, my focus, everything that I do. That is what I want to see happen. I want to see revival breaking out in homes and in families. So wow, that's why I'm here. That
Speaker 1 3:20
is so exciting and so powerful. I love I love the transparency, though, that you said, you know, you're like, Okay, Lord. Yeah, I hear you. I'll pray about it. Because oftentimes, you know, that's kind of the response that I've given as well, because the Lord knows that I don't know how to do anything. So he has to teach me. But I love how you receive that word with faith. And you just knew that if I say yes to this, he's going to do the rest. And so I think another thing that struck me, you know, because this is something that I know is is a big deal, because it's true. So I homeschooled for 16 years, our children have since one two, I graduated one of our children and she's graduated already from college, but then our two sons, the Lord had us put them into a private Christian school locally here in Myrtle Beach. So they've been in school for a couple years and I remember when God was showing me the what had happened in my family. So like, just in one generation was my husband and myself getting together one generation the revival that had turned our family bloodlines a around one generation right? Because a mom and dad decided to say yes to Jesus. People thought we were nuts. I stayed at home we were broker than broke Okay, on anybody's scale. I don't care what scale you measured it by not just us standards. I mean, we weren't insanely poor. And But God said to stay home. And so I guess my point is you are striking a chord in me. I'm excited to get to this conversation because revival. My goodness. I didn't realize it until after that a revival had taken place in my home so grow I am so excited me mission. I am so excited and encouraged by All of it. So then let me ask you this, one of the things that I would love to know is, you know, when a mom hears this voice, because a lot of times we're tired. You know, like you said, You were you were wrapped up in your blanket, you had time to finally rest. And I mean, three boys girl, I know, that's no joke.
Unknown Speaker 5:14
I have to,
Speaker 1 5:16
I always say they're exponential. It's not one plus one. It's like, we have two boys. It's like 10, you have three, it's about 30. So it's like, it's very exponential. So I know, there's a lot of Mama's that are going to be listening to this podcast, you know, the who are married as well, that are just, they're tired. And so they want to hear from God. And some of them are hearing from God. I would love to know, how would you would you say that? What I guess advice would you give to the mama who is desiring to hear from the Lord or perhaps has a doesn't feel like she knows what the next step to take is?
Speaker 2 5:56
That's a good question. I, for me, I believe that one, he directs our steps. So when you pray about it, he says, Bring your plans before me, I will direct your steps. And so one thing that I learned before was that when you pray, and you're saying, Lord, direct me, he you're asking, seeking and knocking, and he said it will be given to you. So he's going to direct your steps. So that next thing that you're feeling, like, the next thing that you're feeling like, oh, maybe I should do that. Or maybe you're not even thinking it. But there's this opportunity that comes up. And here's an example. So that same week that I heard that small voice at, I was at a moms of preschoolers meeting, and we were going to be having our musicals Show and Tell Mom show Intel, right? And but this time, it was wrapped around, saying yes to something that is like scary, or just an adventure or like something like that. And I was like, What am I going to do? What am I going to do? And he said, You know what to do, you get to go tell them revival starts here, right and share the story. So I was able to two weeks later, I just said, Lord, use my mouth, whatever you want me to say. And I stepped out and I brought up he gave me this word that the only thing that is needed on this journey is him and my Bible, because I was thinking like, I need all these things to go on this journey. Like, because like you, you said, I who am I right? Like, who am I? I think you said that earlier in our conversation like who am I to? You know, do this, what are you calling me to like, Don't you know who I am? And he just said, all you need, you need one thing, and it's your Bible. And then it's me, it's me. It's Jesus. It's the Holy Spirit like so those things combined. That is what you need. And I think it's just taking those steps, even when it doesn't make sense. Because he says His ways are foolish to those on earth, right. And like our earthly realm, it's foolish, but spiritually, heavenly realms, and makes complete sense. And that's where you see everything happening. So even if it seems crazy, and you're like, This doesn't even seem like it makes sense. Just take the step, and he is directing those steps, and he will make it so.
Speaker 1 8:24
That's so good. That's so good. Because a lot of times, you know, we can forgive that when we're tired. You know, we know that we should be reading our word. And we know that the Bible tells us the Holy Spirit, technically, is the only teacher that we need. I mean, I think God for other ones, and accountability and not, you know, fellowship, but really, truly, it's the voice of God that we need to be attuned to. It's the voice of God that we need to be paying attention to. And so I think that you know, revival so we hear this word and every time I don't know about about you, but when I hear revival, I literally just see this consuming fire of God because, you know, in order for things to be revived, they, you know, I think of something being revived is raising it from the dead. It's starting fresh, you know, there's all these different things that kind of come to mind for me. So, you know, as moms, there's a lot of things again, like, I know, I struggled and I know you address this and a lot of things that you do, I struggled a lot with guilt and shame, primarily for mistakes that I made as a mother to be completely honest, and other times for missed opportunities. Like I remember back in circles like 2025 years ago, people say Delayed obedience. I was like, There's no such thing as Delayed obedience is disobedience. So I wouldn't be feeling bad for like missed opportunities. So I would love to know is the mom out there who's who's just stuck in like guilt or shame for things like this? And she's hearing this this message of of revival and an understanding. Wow, Yes, God, I know that you're calling me to this. What would you say could help them to ditch that shit, shame and guilt and pick up the refiners fire and go forth with that mission.
Speaker 2 9:59
You Yes, my first thing is acknowledge, right that you're feeling like guilt. And I think we do that pretty easily for the most part, right? It's especially just as women, but as moms as wives, like, it's easy for us to kind of feel that guilt over something. But it's recognizing it, acknowledging it, calling it what it is, and then recognizing what it's saying to you. Because you can't, he says to the Lord says, Take your take your thoughts captive, right. And so you have to take them captive, you have to actually recognize this is what the guilt is saying to me. And that way, you can speak truth over it, you can cancel those thoughts out, you can move past it, and you can speak truth because ultimately, Jesus removed that from us, right, he paid for, even if it is, you know, he paid for those sins, he paid for disobedience, he paid for our guilt and shame and says no more, you are as white as snow. Right? Yeah. And, and so it's, it's recognizing those two things, and just being able to come into alignment with God's word for you. And just being willing, you know, being willing to if it is that you missed an opportunity, well, just, you know, ask for forgiveness, and step forward into the next one. And don't allow it to hold you back. Because when we hold on to that guilt, if I, I like to use the example of just like a really dirty shirt, okay? And how Gil is like wearing a dirty shirt. And when you have this stinky like thing, I'm, you're like, No, stay away from me, oh, don't get too close, you don't want to smell like what's going on here, right. And so when we carry that, and we hold on to it. That is, that's what it feels like. And so you just got to, you got to ditch it. So you can move forward into that next step that he's calling you to. I
Speaker 1 12:02
really liked that because it is very practical. And it is funny how I think we just get into our own heads and like circumstances, you know, will allow that to kind of shift off us off of the word and just will be like, Oh, no, what am I gonna do? And I love what you said, well, first of all, I love the dirty shirt thing, because I mean, having boys, there's just a lot of dirty shirts around here. With smells that I don't even understand. I'm thinking Lord, this could not have been created by you. I'm kidding. But you know, there's times where I'm like, Whoa. But I really liked that. Because, you know, if if our identity is in Christ as it's supposed to be anything that's put on us that is unholy, anything that's put on us that has a stench, or that doesn't line up with the Bible is not of God. And so it really is as simple as taking that thing off. But it can be a challenge. And I love how you identify you to say, to identify this thing, like coming to almost coming into agreement with you know what, not that, that I'm this thing or that I should be guilt, not the guilt itself. But acknowledging, Hey, I am feeling guilt and some shame around this right now. And then, like you said, being able to say except that that's what's happening, but then being able to take authority over it through the Word and say, Yeah, this may be how I'm feeling this may be what the circumstances is telling me to believe. But God, I trust you. And I know that Your word is truth and desaturate me in that truth. And I love that because I think I know one of the things that I struggled with in it goes it's it's in all the areas of my life that are that are the top priority. So my with my marriage, you know, with my husband, with my children, one of the biggest things that God had to get to me is my tongue, my mouth, it was like, it's like a daily struggle for me. I you know, the way I was raised people say, Oh, I'm just keeping it real. No, we were being rude. Okay, and we're going for the jugular. And it was just the environment I was raised in. That's how everybody around me talk. That's just what we did. It was very godless, you know, there was no mention of Christ or anything like that. And so when God got a hold of me, it's kind of funny. The very first thing he told me was I needed to go into the bookstore after I got saved at this church. I walked in and I kid you not the very first thing was a tape six. This was a long time ago. It was in the 90s. There was a tape set by Joyce Meyer that was entitled Is your mouth saved? And I remember thinking, I know it's not so I remember buying it. And just getting into the scriptures and getting into the Word and allowing God to renew my mind and convict me of that sin. Because, you know, again, the words that we speak right it's life or death. There's no in between the Bible doesn't say it's life death, or or maybe this No, it's one or the other. Right? And so, with revival, we know that God is reviving things he's he's breathing life into them. He's, you know, instilling truth and just exposing all that so, all that to say, Now revival in the home, what a beautiful illustrate ration of the early church of just everything that the Bible institutes as in terms of priorities, we know God, we know its family, you know, then the things come below that, like your church, and then your you know, your job. So within that, I would love to know any words of encouragement that you may have for a mama, who feels like she's alone in this because maybe her husband is just not really on the same page as her at this moment, to be instilling the things necessary into their household, their marriage, their children, that would in fact, cause revival to happen in the home.
Speaker 2 15:40
Oh, that's a good one. So my husband when we were first married, I wasn't, I was saved, but I was very much not walking with the Lord. And, you know, told them Oh, yeah, it's not really a big deal to me, like I don't, you know, don't really care too much. And he was the same the same way. Like, it wasn't a big part of his life. And over the years, it started to become a bigger part of my life. And so there have been a lot of seasons where we have gotten to work through that, and feel that uncomfortableness of okay, this is, this is where I'm wanting to go ahead with my relationship with the Lord. And this is kind of where he's going. So how do we come together and navigate this. And we actually had a conversation just a little while ago, and it was, you know, it's just getting used to it, right. And I think that's something that we get to recognize is that, if this is something on our hearts, right one, we pray about it, we take it to the Lord, we pray for our husband, all of those things. And then we recognize the place that our husband may be in, and we honor him in that, and honor that, okay, he's feeling a little like, he notices the shift in me, he notices the things I'm saying and doing with the children, whether it's spraying or, you know, going out and praying over people with the kids, whatever it is that you're doing, reading your Bible, and he's kind of feeling a little uncomfortable, like, Oh, what, you know what's going on with my family type of thing. It's just honoring him in that place, and allowing him to have those feelings. And you know, one thing I told my husband is like, Honey, I don't know, when when the Lord gets a hold of your heart, right? When he gets a hold of you. It's like this crazy. I don't really know what's going on, you know, but you it's, it's a power like you have to write it's like, I have to do this, like, I don't know, this is uncomfortable for me to, you know, yes. And and you you just have to and you, I think we get to recognize that the Lord works in us that in different times, different places, different ways. And I remember a few years ago, we were I was praying so hard for my husband, and we were watching a, a church service online. And at the end, they did like the altar car call, you know, to give your life to Jesus and my husband stood up, and he started giving his life to Jesus. And I was just like,
Unknown Speaker 18:23
wow, why just help.
Speaker 2 18:25
And you know, what just happened. And the Lord just works in mysterious ways. And I say, just be encouraged your The Lord wants to see your husband saved and living his life for him and in fellowship him more than even you want that. Amen.
Speaker 1 18:47
That's so so you said so many amazing things. I don't even know where to start. I think one of the things I love that really stood out initially was how you said to honor him in that place, you know, and I think that's so important, because we can get ahead of ourselves, right, we can get a little zealous and think that we're the Holy Spirit, or it's our timing, and you know, I want this for you. So this is really what you need to be doing. Where God works that out, if we obey, he just asked us to give him his, you know, our Yes. And as you said, you know, I love how I was thinking also just how we are you know, he's the vine and where the branch is, and how you know, he and then also he, they will know you by your fruit. So, even if somebody's a little apprehensive, well, she used to say this and do this, but now she's doing that, that Holy Ghost fruit, that thing shines and it has a power all in its own that nothing on this row could compare to No, no guru that teaches you time management or habits, you know, changing and all this stuff, planning, none of that matters. When the Holy Spirit is involved. It is just a whole different dynamic, because like we talked about easy this is coming from the heavenly realms is not easy to do with this world system. It's above it. Right? And so I think that's so exciting because just that test of Wendy right there, I know that there are women out there who will be so encouraged to hear that your husband literally gave his life to Christ through service even on the internet. I mean, God's power is not limited by space and time and people forget that, oh, if you're not in the church building, or you're not doing this, or if it's not an ordained this or that, no, maybe the power of God, it doesn't say, I can only filter through you if you went to seminary, right? Right, obedience. And so I'm very, very excited to just continue to see what God is doing in your ministry and in your heart, because like you said, it's, I think, initially when God tells you things, and you're just like, whoa, because you just No, I can't, I can't do this by myself. It has to be you, father. But I love that you said yes, anyway, and you're now telling others about it. So it's not a secret, you've, you're holding yourself accountable, you put it all the way out there, you know, I'm in it, Lord. And I'm doing it for your glory. And I know that he's going to continue to just bless you and honor you and your family, and your husband and your sons and all your extended family and those that he's called you to minister to. And I'm just here for it. I'm excited. So thank you for saying yes. And not, you know, giving into the temptation to doubt or be afraid, because I know that pops up. Right, it pops up all the time. So I do have another question for you, then that I think is very pertinent to this conversation. And also to just something that I know that you offer for free a training. I think a lot of times mamas do hear the voice of God. And they doubt it, because they're, they're fixated on earthly qualification. They're listening to lies, they're not, you know, listening to God about these things. And so again, like we talked about religion, you know, the worldly system attaches guilt and shame to stuff, because it's not of God, right? We know that God, when Jesus came to die, when that first drop of blood hit the ground, the guilt, the shame, all those things he took that it's conviction. Yeah, but not going on vacation. Right? So I would love to know what you would say to the mama who has been hindered in that walk, and then, you know, just in that obedience walk, but also then to share a little bit about where they can grab your free training. To help combat that? Yeah.
Speaker 2 22:26
Oh, so the walking, like we've already talked about, you know, what it feels like to walk in that. And me, and if I can just tell you one thing, you know, just trust Him, believe His Word, you know, believe His word of what he says. And when he said that he removed that guilt from you, like, cling to that seriously, cling to it and repeat it over yourself every single day. And I just have to share, so this training that I did, which so with this training, you'll get a 20 minute speech training that I did, plus an ebook in journal. I did this last year, and there was a woman again, listening through zoom. Well, it wasn't necessarily soon, but virtually from an event, okay. And the activity that I had them do the Holy Spirit told her get out of your car, she was driving, listening, Holy Spirit said, get out of your car, and do what she's about to have you do. And she was like, what? Am I gonna do that, you know, I'm driving down the road, I'm gonna look crazy. And get out and do what she's about to have you do. And I mentioned the dirty shirt earlier. And when the activity that I have you do is we're removing the dirty shirt, and we're putting on a robe of righteousness. And she did that on the side of the road, like, feeling crazy feeling like what are you having me do? Got back into the vehicle. And the Lord delivered her of what did she say a spirit of disappointment, a spirit of disappointment right there in her car. And she didn't even know she had been dealing with it. And she just said she's like Alyssa, I just I broke down like I didn't even know this is something I had been carrying around but she said it set me free to now step into to now step into what he's actually calling me to what his calling and His purpose is on my life. Now that cleared it all out so I can step into that. And so when we're walking around in this guilt are for her it was you know, disappointment that she didn't even know she was carrying around. It blocks us from doing that dream, that vision that that God has actually called us to because we are holding on to this her of the world we're hurting on to we're listening to like you said it's an earthly realm thing, right? The the worldly thing it gets put on us and we hold on to it. And when we can take it off Let it go, it frees you up, it's like a block is gone. You know, it's, it's just removed, and you can move forward in that. And so they can get that on that free guilt. book.com Awesome. That's wrong, it's guilt free
Speaker 1 25:17
book.com will have the links, so don't worry about it, okay, like just one of the links, people, because it'll be very spelled out for you. And man, again, a spirit of disappointment. I can personally testify that I didn't know I carried anything like that either. I had been disappointed. I could, you know, verify that many times in my life. But I didn't realize how it would follow me from season to season. And sometimes not even disappointment stemming from the same place that it would land in another season. And so I'm, I'm so excited. You know, I'm gonna go sign up for this thing, because I know that that was something that I had to be shut up in the past. So definitely go ladies and grab this freebie. Because, I mean, one of the things that I that I know about God, is that divine appointments, that is like, everything, like if you're here and you are feeling like a heart tug, you know, you're feeling convicted. Somebody I believe will be in tears when they hear this. God is with you, and he is for you. And He wants you. He wants you to be set free. When I think of the Scripture, you know, says it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. He didn't do it. So we could feel bad. He didn't do it so that we could go around feeling sorry for ourselves too. Seriously, you know, he did it so that we can walk freely in the authority, that calling the anointing the mantle's all the things so literally, we could bring his kingdom from heaven to earth. And so gosh, I'm so excited about this, you know, I really could sit here and talk to you, I'm sure all day and probably beyond that, about this amazing revelation that God has given you in this calling, and this mandate that he's given you. But what I will say is this, I know there's going to be women who are just like, yes, Alyssa I need to connect with you. So I would love for you to share with them. Where can they find you at?
Speaker 2 27:11
Yeah, I'd love to connect on I'm mostly on Facebook and Instagram so just find me on Facebook it's just Alyssa Rajn and it's ra h n for my last name. And then Instagram is Alyssa Rahn eight. And so I'd love to connect with you there and chat just get to know you. Awesome.
Speaker 1 27:29
And we'll of course we will link that below so make it easy for you guys. And then I just want to thank you I want to thank you for you know, giving us your time sharing your heart. And again just for saying yes to the call on your life. Okay, so thank you so much, Alisa again for being with us. Thank you, Carly. It was great. Awesome.
